Johnson’s lightning quick first step, overall strength, and aerial prowess make him a dangerous striker in the U.S. arsenal. After a successful loan spell at Cardiff City he returned to Fulham in England's top flight. He made two appearances for the USA in 2009, both as a substitute. In late December he finalized a move to join Greek side Aris FC on loan until June 30, 2010.
- Johnson has eight goals in only nine FIFA World Cup qualifying appearances, and still holds the record as the only U.S. player to score a hat trick coming of the bench (Oct. 13, 2004 vs. Panama)
